Should we have another one?

Coming up...

Hey people, so we've had some emails in the last couple months asking whats 'lips' plan is.

Throwing events is not an easy task, especially throwing queer related events in a smaller community. Our objective is to throw smaller style homo-hop style, shaking rump, relaxed fun events. If your queer/gay/trans/homo/lesbo/bisexual/straight - we want you all there and we want to hear you and your requests, what do you want? A specific Dj, live band, queerokie, jam sessions etc? Let us know - we'll try our best to make it happen, of course if its a reasonable request. ;)

We are fortunate enough to have found a permanent home for Lips events, in the Cathedral area close to Albert and 13th avenue - parking lot across the street, and close to public transportation.

So on that note, we have some monthly events coming up starting in May. Whats happening you ask? - well we're going to leave you hanging for a bit, as details get finalized - you'll be the first to know.

Have a great sunshiny day - its beautiful out!

Change is good

Hey Everyone, Welcome to Lips' new blog.

We've been taking a bit of a break to restructure and wait for our new permanent venue to be ready!

During this time some of you may have came to SIREN - which was a collaboration project with Afterdark Productions crew. The point of that party was to work with our friends and try and make it for everyone of all ages, we understand it was more of a 'rave' atmosphere which of course is not for everyone, but the majority that stayed had a good time. The party itself was a success, we had over 250 people in attendance, bar sales were great, and we even helped GenQ (youth gay group) raise some funds. We had an all female Dj line up with Tk from Toronto and VJ Carrie gates, Shannon Busta, and Kiwi from Saskatoon, of course one of our regular dj's Mallory Tapp.

We want to thank you all for your support and patience through our trial and errors! We heart you all.
